Yianakohori village is near Naoussa, in North Greece, where Yiannis Boutaris first bought 50 ha of land in 1968. Two decades later, the Estate gave a birth to a new blend when Kir-Yiannis dared to mix the exuberant Xinomavro with the cosmopolitan Merlot, a pioneering action for that period. So, the legendary “Yianakohori” was born!
Weather conditions in 2007 lead to the excellent maturation of the grapes. The result was a wine with intensity, volume, complex aromas and well-structured tannins, ready to prove its endurance over time. A wine full of impressive aromas of red and black fruit, sun-dried tomatoes and tobacco.
