SIXTY YEARS OF WINE MAKING…

Yannis Boutaris recounts, with candour, his lifetime involvement with wine making, following a family tradition of four generations. Initiatives, innovations and clashes that transformed the wine industry in Greece in the last sixty years and his reflections on future opportunities; his personal fight and victory over the spectre of alcoholism and the use of his experience in trying to establish life-saving structures for addicted people.

His involvement in public governance, his eight-year service as Mayor of Thessaloniki, his eccentric and at times provocative public speaking, together with family milestones. Co-written with Maria Mavrikaki, an old friend and colleague, the life story of a larger than life character is true, personal, open, showing his contradictions and doubts and looking forward to his vision for the creation of the Ark of the Greek Vineyard in the fields of the former royal palace of Tatoi.
