Xinomavro Amphora 2023
A fascinating exploration on the impact of amphora maturation in a top selection of ungrafted Xinomavro vines, grown on a tiny block of a stunning 0,65 ha vineyard in Amyndeon. Located at 620 meters above sea level with sandy loam soils and moderate slope, this parcel has been displaying outstanding quality features to the grapes produced.
The wine ferments in 5-ton wooden vats and matures for 16-month in 500-liter amphora, offering a distinctive acidity to the wine, building a structured mouthfeel, while the fruit-forward palate is enhanced with subtle mineral notes.
A wine project to watch out for as it embraces deep knowledge about the variety and the terroir and a spirit of both exploration and patience to monitor and understand the weight of amphora in micro-vinification.
