What makes Diaporos 2012 special is the unique expression of the Xinomavro grape that this great vintage offers after two less impressive harvest years for the variety.

The weather conditions were favorable and allowed Kir-Yianni Estate to produce the style they had long been looking for: a phenolic-mature wine without extreme alcoholic strength.

The absence of excessive heat throughout the summer months helped both the ripening of the grapes and the retention of their acidity, which proved conducive to the wine’s longevity.

Ten years on, Diaporos 2012 is a wonderfully complex wine with aromas of bittersweet black fruit, dark chocolate and pepper. Well-structured with alcohol and acidity levels in check, it has finesse but tannin grittiness as well.

This red wine is a perfect match for rich dishes such as meat casseroles with hearty sauces.
