Dyo Elies 2004

In 2004 , Yiannis Boutaris handed over the leadership of the Estate to his eldest son, and a “velvet” revolution begun. It was that time when Dyo Elies, the first wine o Stellios Boutaris was produced and two years later was released in the market. The wine took its name by the two olive trees standing to the southeast side of the Estate. Both the label of Dyo Elies and the vintage of 2004 mark a new era of the Estate.

“Dyo Elies” of 2004 is the best evidence of that revolution against the “rough reds” of that period. The winemaking approach changes, offering wines of a great structure, high ageing potentials, with finesse and intense fruit aromas. The moderate temperatures and the relatively low rainfall levels during August and September, in combination with the increased levels of sunshine, led to an unusually high concentration of phenolic compounds and a good aromatic intensity. The result was, a Great Wine!
