Xinomavro 1999
Block #7 in the vineyard of KIR-YIANNI Estate was planted with Xinomavro in 1970. It is located at 255 meters altitude with a 16% inclination, northeast orientation and clay-loam soil. This heavy composition and the conditions, contribute to a wine with high acidity, structure and volume.
The fermentation of Xinomavro 1999 took place in two 3.5 ton oak vats, where it remained for 11 months. The maturation process continued for another 8 months in French oak barrels of 225 lt and 500 lt.
Deep, dark, garnet color.
The nose is complex with jammy aromas of black fruit (blackberry) and sweet spoon dessert of cherry and rose, as well as notes of black olive and leather.
On the palate, it is balanced, with structure, smooth tannins, high acidity and long finish.
